Four Volleyball Players Named to Atlantic 10 Teams

Owls represented on first, second, honorable mention, rookie and academic teams
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Four members of the Temple volleyball team were honored with postseason recognition, earning All A-10 honors as the Owls get set to make their 14th-straight Atlantic 10 Tournament appearance. Senior Yun Yi Zhang was Temple's top honoree, getting first team honors.
Senior Jackie Morrison was named to the A-10 Second Team as well as to the All-Academic Team, junior Jessica Antosz earned honorable mention honors and redshirt freshman Jasmine Waters was named to the All-Rookie Team.
The All A-10 honor is the third for Zhang, but her first time earning first team recognition. Zhang is currently second among all players in NCAA Division I with 5.45 kills per set. Yi has totaled 1,597 kills in her Temple career to rank fifth all-time in the program. She was an AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention selection last year, and has been honored twice this season as the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week.
Jackie Morrison, earning all-conference honors for the first time, has recorded 2,806 assists to rank sixth all-time at Temple. The All-Academic Team honor is her first, and she was also recently selected as an ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree. Her impressive GPA of 3.85 as a communication sciences major has earned her numerous other academic awards throughout her four-year career.
Jessica Antosz, named all-conference honorable mention, ranks third on the team in kills at 1.64 per set and leads the team with 0.89 blocks per set (74 total). In a 3-1 win vs. Rhode Island on Oct. 17, Antosz tallied 14 kills and a season-high nine blocks.
Redshirt freshman Jasmine Waters was named to the All-Rookie Team after being a consistent performer for the Owls in her first season on the court. Waters has played in all 91 sets this season, averaging 1.57 kills per set along with 0.79 blocks per set.
