Owls Wrap Up Weekend at Bison Multi and Thompson Invitational

LEWISBURG, PA - Junior Ryan Berger was Temple's top performer this weekend at the Bison Multi in Lewisburg, Pa. Berger placed second in the 55m dash with a time of 6.66, the best collegiate finisher in the event. Overall, Berger finished 12th on the day in the heptathlon.
Berger also finished 6th in the pole vault, with a height of 12-09.50. Fellow junior Alex Schiavi ran the 55m hurdles, finishing with a time of 8.88 in eighth place. Schiavi also ran the 55m dash, finishing eighth with a time of 6.94.
At the Thompson Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware on Saturday, junior Grant West had a solid performance in the weight throw. West's distance of 54-11.50 claimed him first place and nearly an IC4A qualifying mark. Sophomore Rob Keogh threw a distance of 54-02.75, following West in second place.
Senior Marquise Stancil was the Owls top performer on the day, nabbing first in both the 200m and 400m dashes. Stancil ran a 22.55 in the 200m, and a 50.27 in the 400m. Also having first place finishes on the day were senior Jason Sullivan, running a 1:06.89 in the 500m, and sophomore Kijaun Wilkinson in the triple jump with a distance of 43-06.50.
Other notable performances were had by Tim Boeni in the long jump (2nd, 22-05.00), Jason Howitt in the 60m hurdles (3rd, 8.92), and Lou Parisi in the 800m (2nd, 2:00.37).
The Cherry and White are back in action next weekend, February 7th and 8th, at the New Balance Collegiate Invite held in New York, NY.
