PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University baseball program invites Owls alumni, fans and friends to gather around the "hot stove" for the team's First Pitch Dinner. Formerly a staple of the Owls' pre-season activity, head coach Rob Valli has revived the tradition in 2009 as Temple Baseball continues its upward swing under the fourth-year coach.
This year's First Pitch Dinner will be held Friday, Feb. 13 at the Doubletree Hotel Philadelphia, located at 237 South Broad St. Parking is located adjacent to the hotel at a reduced rate of $9 for dinner guests. A cash bar cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and a program at 7 p.m.
Valli will provide a thorough preview of the team, introduce assistant coaches and let guests hear from the baseball Class of 2009. Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw and Associate Athletic Director for Development Scott Koskoski will share the vision for the baseball program, including upcoming capital improvements.
Tickets are going quickly, yet still available for $60 (adults). Contact the Temple Owl Club at (215) 204-CLUB (2582) for further information or to RSVP by Noon Feb. 13.
