The Owls finished the game shooting a blistering 52% from the field, while holding the Billikens to 33% shooting from the floor, including 0-10 from behind the three-point line. The Owls also won the rebounding battle 40-35 and forced 16 Saint Louis turnovers.
For the second consecutive game, the Owls jumped out to a commanding lead from the opening whistle. After Saint Louis scored the opening bucket of the game, the Cherry and White used a stifling defensive effort to fuel a 10-0 run. Temple shot 4-of-5 from the floor to open the game, while Saint Louis went 1-for-7.
But the Billikens wouldn't go down without a fight. Saint Louis fought its way back into the game, as Theresa Lisch's free throw with 6:30 left with cut the lead down to one point (18-17). McCarthy's three from the left wing extended the Cherry and White lead to 27-19 with 3:11 left in the half.

With 34 seconds remaining and the Owls up 29-20, junior stole the ball from Lisch, tossed the ball to a wide-open Eaddy, who scored on a fast-break bucket while being fouled by the Saint Louis defender. She hit the free-throw to convert the three-point play, extending the lead to 32-20. Then, following a Saint Louis bucket with :06 seconds remaining, Eaddy drove the length of the floor - nearly untouched - hitting a lay-up as time expired, giving the Cherry and White a 34-22 heading into the locker room.Kristie Watkins-Day
In the second half, it was the play of sophomore Wallace that put the game out of reach. Up 38-28 with 14:20 remaining, Wallace scored seven points as part of a 13-2 Temple run over a three-minute stretch, extending the lead to 51-38. The Owls continued to push and finished with the 76-56 result.

Temple next travels to Massachusetts on Wednesday for yet another School Day game. The contest tips off at 11:45 a.m. in Amherst.
