PHILADELPHIA-After a strong second half push that gave Temple (20-8) nine victories in its last 10 games, the women's basketball team finished with an 11-3 Atlantic 10 record, the #2 seed and a first round bye in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Tournament. The Owls will face the winner of the St. Bonaventure (20-9, 9-5 A-10)/Saint Joseph's (13-15, 5-9 A-10) game on Saturday, March 7 at 5:30 p.m. in Charlotte's Halton Arena.

The Owls finished the regular season strong with victories against Saint Joseph's, Charlotte, Richmond, 13th-ranked Xavier and George Washington. Temple and Charlotte (20-8, 11-3 A-10) finished with identical records in a tie for second place in the standings but TU earned the second seed thanks to their win over the 49ers.

Temple dropped a close 55-52 decision to the Bonnies earlier this season but swept the Hawks in both meetings this year.

A win in the quarterfinals would advance the Owls to the semifinals against the winner of the Charlotte/Dayton/UMass game on March 8 at 2:30 p.m. The contest will be broadcast on CBS College Sports. The A-10 final will take place on Monday, March 9 at 5 p.m. on ESPN2.
