Inclement Weather Forecast Alters Baseball's Weekend Schedule

PHILADELPHIA - With poor weather forecasted for Sunday, the following changes have been made to the schedule for the three-game baseball series between Temple and La Salle. The two teams will play a doubleheader beginning at noon on Friday and a single game on Saturday at 1 PM.
Scouting the Owls
Temple (8-11, 3-0 A-10) has won six of its last eight games, including last weekend's sweep of Duquesne...Carmen Del Mastro is batting a team-best .410 and also leads the team in steals (nine)...Jamie Abercrombie (.386) leads the A-10 in doubles (11) and is among the national leaders in that category...Sean Barksdale (.386) is riding a 12-game hitting streak and has four home runs...Kyle Obal (.351) leads the team with 22 RBI...Tony Jusino (.325) has a nine-game hitting streak...Temple will send Ben White (1-2, 6.33 ERA) to the mound for game one, followed by Dan Moller (1-3, 8.44 ERA) for game two and Ryan Thomas (2-1, 3.28 ERA) for game three.

La Salle (9-10, 0-3 A-10) snapped a four-game losing skid on Wednesday with a 12-2 victory over Delaware State...TJ Chism and John Malloy each had three hits and drove in three in the victory...Chism is off to a hot start, leading the team in average (.393), runs (21), home runs (six), RBI (24) and steals (six)...Malloy has a team-best nine doubles and is batting .376...Jeff Flax (.338) is the other Explorer batter better than .300...La Salle will send Drew Gerhart (1-1, 6.04 ERA) to the mound for game one, followed by Kevin Fuqua (2-1, 4.30 ERA) for game two and Chism (0-1, 5.50 ERA) for game three.
