Owls' Throwers Compete In Lions' Invitational

EWING, NJ - The Temple thrower's competed in the Lions' Invitational on Saturday, hosted by the College of New Jersey. Senior Bryce Buffaloe led the men with a first place finish in the hammer throw, while freshmen Rachael Furman and Brittany Weston had strong showings on the women's side.

Buffaloe notched the lone first place finish on the day for either side, posting a toss of 54.02m in the hammer throw. The senior also placed sixth in the shot put (14.12m) and discus (42.07m).

Also for the men, freshman Brian Littlepage landed fifth in the discus (42.21m) and took 17th in the shot put (12.62m). Redshirt freshman Chris Durante placed fourth in the javelin (55.18m), while junior Charlie Morris took 16th (49.04) in the same event.

For the women, freshman Brittany Weston competed in three events. She posted her best finish in the hammer throw (6th, 39.22m), while taking 14th in the discus (30.74m), and 24th in the shot put (8.71m).

Fellow freshman Rachael Furman took fifth place in the javelin with a toss of 34.06, while junior Daisy Amato took 12th in the same event (30.66m).

The Cherry and White will travel to Charlotte next weekend to vie for the Atlantic 10 Championship on May 2 and 3.
