Track Teams Compete At Swarthmore Last Chance Meet

VILLANOVA, PA - The Temple men's & women's track and field teams competed in the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet Monday afternoon, hosted by Swarthmore College. Junior Carlleen Allison placed first in the 400m dash, the lone Owl meeting ECAC qualifying marks. On the men's side, Miles Dryden placed second the long jump and fifth in the 100m dash.

Also faring well for the women was Devon DuPont, nabbing a first place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 25.25, and placing second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.63.

Sophomore Paris Williams took two third place finishes on the day, running the 100m dash in a time of 12.63 and the 200m dash in 25.34. Running along side Williams and DuPont in the 200m dash was Rose Drayton, placing 11th in a time of 26.22.

In the 800m run, sophomore Tashima Stephens placed seventh in a time of 2:13.01. Taking a fourth place finish in the triple jump was Sequoia McBall, landing a distance of 36-07.50.

For the men, junior Joshua Louis placed second in the high jump, clearing a height of 6-06.00. Louis also finished sixth in the 200m dash, running a time of 22.46. Placing 17th in the same event was Daniel Lynch, running a time of 22.78.

In the throws, red-shirt freshman Eric Durante took fourth in the javelin with a toss of 190-07. Freshman Travis Mahoney represented the Owls in the distance events, running a ninth place finish in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:25.99.

The Owls are back in action next when they travel to Princeton, NJ, where the qualifiers for the ECAC/IC4A Championships will compete.
