FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Temple men's golf team tied for 13th place with Creighton after 36 holes of play on Friday on the first of two days of competition at the 2009 McLaughlin at Bethpage State Park's Red Course. UNC-Wilmington led the 18-team field with a two-round total of 556, one stroke ahead of Coastal Carolina and Towson. Temple carded a 583.
Senior Eric Plisko led the Cherry and White and tied for 14th among the 93 golfers with a 142 (72-70). Junior Andrew Mason carded a 145 (71-74) to tie for 34th. Junior Joseph Kim (76-72, 148, t-58th), junior Mark Edmonson (78-73, 151, t-77th) and redshirt freshman Devin Bibeau (75-80, 155, 85th) rounded out the Owls squad.
Evan Beirne of host St. John's and Stefan Brewer of UNC-Wilmington led the field with a score of 135
The Owls tee-off Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. in the final round of play.
