FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Temple men's golf team placed 16th at the 2009 McLaughlin held at Bethpage State Park's Red Course. Coastal Carolina won the 18-team invitational with a three-round total of 835, besting second place UNC-Wilmington by four strokes. Towson placed third with an 840 while Temple carded a 885.
Senior Eric Plisko led the Cherry and White and tied for 21st among the 93 golfers with a 215 (72-70-73). Junior Andrew Mason carded a 222 (71-74-77) to tie for 57th. Junior Mark Edmonson (78-73-73, 224, t-68th), Joseph Kim (76-72-81, 229, t-81st) and redshirt freshman Devin Bibeau (75-80-79, 234, 88th) rounded out the Owls squad.
Greg Shuman (Harvard), Sam Lyons (Coastal Carolina) and Nyasha Mauchaza (Towson) tied for first with a two-under par 208.
The Owls next compete at the Adams Cup of Newport in Newport, R.I.
