Men's Golf Finishes Tied For 13th at Adams Cup of Newport

Senior Eric Plisko leads Owls with 24th place finish
NEWPORT, R.I. – The Temple men's golf team concluded play at the 16th Annual Adams Cup of Newport held at the Newport National G.C. (Par 72-7,244 yards) Tuesday. The Owls finished the tournament tied with Rhode Island for 13th out of 17 teams. The team finished with a three-round score of 919 (305-303-311). Southern Methodist University won the 17 team tournament with a three round total of 876, six strokes in front of second place finisher Georgia Southern. Temple finished ahead of fellow Atlantic 10 member St. Joseph's (17th).
Senior Eric Plisko led the Cherry and White and tied for 24th among the 89 golfers with an eight-over par 224 (71-76-77). Junior Andrew Mason carded a 229 (78-75-76) to tie for 41st. Junior Mark Edmondson (79-75-79, 233, t-55th) redshirt freshman Devin Bibeau (75-79-81, 235, t-64th) and junior Joseph Kim (81-84-79, 244, t-84th) rounded out the Owl's squad.
Connecticut's Jeb Buchanan finished in the top spot with a 9-under 207. He fired three consecutive rounds of 69 on Monday and Tuesday. Georgia Southern's Ryan Zabroske finished two strokes back.
The Owls take will some time off before they travel to New Haven, CT for the MacDonald Cup scheduled to take place October 3rd and 4th.
