Eleven minutes into the 2009 season, Noone set Sagna up one-on-one with Wilcats keeper Chris Bresnahan. The crafty senior chipped the ball perfectly over Bresnahan's to put the Owls up early.
The Cherry and White would go into halftime with a 1-0 lead, out-shooting their opponents 5-4.
Early into the second, Noone dished a ball in deep to a streaking Witmer who blasted a sharp angle shot above the head of Bresnahan, banking off of the crossbar into the back of the net for a 2-0 TU lead.
Noone's two assists put him in a five-way tie for first all-time in
Head coach David MacWilliams commented after the game that, “I think we were sporadic at times, I think we played well at times, and at times we didn't play so well. I don't think we're as fit as we need to be which is something we will work on. I thought we played a real good Villanova team, they're well coached and in the end it was a good result for us.”
Owls' keeper Bret Mollon made six saves in the contest, allowing only one goal late in the second half.
