May and Penetar run top-times for the Owls in the College Men's Gold race

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Seniors Mike May and Eddie Penetar turned in the Owls' top-times in the College Men's Gold race as the Temple men's cross country team competed at the 37th Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University. THe Owls placed 34th out of 42 teams in the top collegiate race of the day.
One of the largest cross country meet's in the nation, the Paul Short Invitational played host to over 5,000 runners from 230 colleges and high schools.
May turned in a time of 25:01 over the 8k course to place 62nd. Penetar crossed the finish line in a time of 25:24, with junior Travis Mahoney finishing within a second of him at 25:25. Also faring well was junior Ben Thomas (26:46), classmate Geoff Barletta (27:05), freshman Will Kellar (27:22) and senior Eric Conklin (27:35).
In the Open Men's 8k, senior Clarke Hunt was Temple's lone participant running 27:37 over the hill and dale.
Up next, the Owls take to State College for the Penn State National Invitational on October 16.
