Juran posts four RBI on the day

AMBLER, Pa. - Team White holds a commanding 2-0 lead in the Temple baseball team's Cherry & White Fall Classic after play on day one was suspended due to darkness.  Junior Taylor Juran posted two hits in game one, driving in four runs on the evening to give Team White an early grip on the series.

Junior Dan Moller got the nod in game one for Team White, shutting out Team Cherry while his team went on to score five runs.  Juran posted two hits with one RBI, while seniors Ben Flanary and Rafael Cordero, along with redshirt-junior Steve Nikorak and freshman Phil Gianakos posted RBI.  Freshman Zach Batchelor took the loss for Team Cherry.

Game two saw a tighter finish, still with Team White coming out on top.  Junior Tyler Horst earned the 3-2 win thanks to two-RBI from Flanary and one from Juran in the first.  Redshirt-sophomore Matt Elko drove in a run for Team Cherry, while sophomore Henry Knabe drove in and scored a run.  Junior Jimmy Devine pitched and took the loss.

Team White was again posting a shutout after two and one half innings of play in the third game.  Juran and junior Jabair Khan owned two RBI each to give White a 4-0 lead.

Play resumes tomorrow, October 23, at 9:30 a.m. as the series comes to an end.
