Stangl Falls in Singles Round of 32 at ITA Regional Championship

Senior lone Temple women's tennis player still active on the weekend

NORFOLK, Va. – Senior Theresa Stangl was the lone Temple Owl women's tennis player still vying for a championship at the ITA Regional Championship this weekend. The tournament is being held at the Old Dominion on Thursday-Friday, October 21-24, 2010.

Stangl squared off against Erin Vierra of Virginia in the round of 32 after getting by Virginia Commonwealth's Olga Terteac, 6-2, 7-6(2), in the opening round. The second-seeded Vierra was too much for Stangl, knocking her out of contention with a 6-2, 6-1 match.

The Owls women's tennis team has completed the fall portion of its schedule and will begin play in the spring championship season with a January 22, 2011 match at Dartmouth.
