Men's Cross Country Aims For Atlantic 10 Title On Saturday

Men's 8K set for 9:45 a.m. on October 30
PHILADLEPHIA - The Temple men's cross country team made history in 2009, placing a program-best fifth place overall at the conference championships. The Owls aim to better there mark this season as they travel to compete in the Atlantic 10 Championships on Saturday, October 30 at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Owls return all but one of the participants from that monumental squad. Senior Mike May, who last season became Temple's first ever male cross country All-Conference honoree, returns for his final run at an A-10 title. Fellow seniors Eddie Penetar, Eric Conklin and Clarke Hunt will also be traveling to compete.
Juniors Geoffrey Barletta, Dan Carreon, Travis Mahoney, Thomas Thomas and David Walters are also set to push the pace of the team. Mahoney kicked off the 2010 cross country season with a first place finish at the 16th Annual Monmouth Invitational.
Brian MacNab and Will Kellar will be making their first appearances at the A-10 Championships. Both freshman, the pair has been turning in solid times all season in their collegiate debuts.
