Owls prepare for UCLA and check out the sights of Hollywood on day four

LOS ANGELES - Hollywood was the destination for much of day four of the Temple women's basketball team's trip to California. The Owls spent the morning preparing to play UCLA tomorrow, and studying, but the afternoon was devoted to sightseeing.
Temple spent two hours at Pauley Paviliion early this morning, on the Nell & John Wooden Court at UCLA. The Owls will face the 13th-ranked Bruins tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. (PST). For complete game notes, click the link at the top of the blog.
The team had breakfast and then study hall back at the hotel. Senior academic advisor Nick Plack is along on the trip to make sure everyone keeps up with their classwork.
Early in the afternoon, everyone got back on the bus to head for Hollywood. The entire group took a one-hour double-decker bus tour with Hollywood Fun Tours, which drove around the main streets of the entire area. Sights included movie studios, comedy clubs, famous hotels and numerous other attractions, documented in the video blog. The tour guide said it was about as cold as it gets here, and sitting atop a double-decker bus, we believed him.
But everyone survived the cold and enjoyed the tour anyway, and a warmer activity followed as the group took a trip to Madame Tussauds Hollywood Wax Museum. Many of the wax figures were almost scary in their life-likeness.
El Torito back in Marina del Rey was the dinner destination, and everyone enjoyed the Mexican food which may be slightly more authentic in southern California than in Philadelphia.
Tomorrow is another early day for the Owls, who will head to shootaround at UCLA at 7:00 a.m.
