Owls square off against Dragons in second home meet of season
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Temple women's tennis team hosts its second match of the season on Friday, February 19, 2010. The Owls take on cross-city rival Drexel at 12:30 p.m.
The Cherry & White have opened the spring campaign with a 2-4 overall record, with two of those losses coming at the hands of top-50 teams. TU has dropped two-straight coming into the match against Drexel, falling 5-2 against Atlantic 10 rival Xavier before losing 7-0 at #36 Virginia Commonwealth last weekend.
Temple's two victories are a 6-1 defeat of Southern New Hampshire and a 4-3 win against Penn. Penn happens to be a common opponent between the Cherry &?White and the Dragons, with Drexel dropping a 6-1 decision to the Quakers.
Freshman May Johnson has been solid in singles play, posting a 3-2 dual meet record this spring. Senior Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova and junior Lucie Pazderova continue to have success in doubles play, teaming up for a 3-2 dual record in 2010.
