Tony Jusino Named Big 5 Baseball Player Of The Week

Owls senior hit .632 over four games at UNLV

PHILADELPHIA – Temple baseball senior Tony Jusino has been named the Philadelphia Big Five Baseball Player of the Week, in voting by the city's head coaches and sports information offices.

Jusino batted .632 (12-for-19) in a four-game series at UNLV this weekend. The San Diego, Calif. native (Rancho Bernardo/Grossmont) scored six runs and knocked in three for the Owls. His best performance was a 5-for-6 showing in the series finale on Sunday.

The senior is leading the team in batting average (.483), hits (14), slugging percentage (.552) and on-base percentage (.485) through their first seven games. He has been solid in the field as well, only committing one error.

Up next for the Owls is a showdown at ACC-foe Duke, beginning March 5 at 3:00 p.m.
