Louis soars in high jump, Buffaloe betters school record in weight throw

BOSTON – Senior performance highlighted the IC4A Championships for the Temple men's track & field team, as Josue Louis and Bryce Buffaloe took second place finishes in the high jump and weight throw, respectively. The men's team took a 13th place finish out of 51 teams, their highest ever.
Buffaloe bested his school record, and bettered his NCAA provisional mark in the weight throw with a toss of 19.89m. Louis cleared a height of 2.04m in the high jump.
Also in the weight throw, senior Grant West heaved a toss of 18.67m to place fifth, while junior Bob Keogh placed eighth with a throw of 18.09m.
In the long jump, junior Miles Dryden placed 16th with distance of 6.75m.
Preliminary action may not have gone as planned for TU, but all in all the Owls were well represented with strong efforts.
In the 55m dash, Emmanuel Freeland placed 18th in a time of 6.51. Louis broke the tape in a time of 7.77, to take 18th in the 55m hurdles.
In the mile run, Eddie Penetar turned in a time of 4:20.31.
The 4x800m relay team (Lou Parisi, Zac Coulson, Geoffrey Barletta, Penetar) combined for a time of 7:50.98. The 4x400m team (Derrhyl Duncan, Alex Schiavi, Tariq Lee, Brad McFadden) ran a time of 3:18.70.
