Boeni, Men’s 4x100m Relay Excel In Day Two Of Penn Relays

Boeni takes second in long jump, 4x100m qualifies for Saturday
PHILADELPHIA – Senior Tim Boeni placed second in the College Men's Long Jump Eastern and the men's 4x100m relay team qualified for action Saturday as select members of the Temple men's track & field team competed in Friday's events at the Penn Relays.
Boeni cleared 25-8 to place second, with junior Miles Dryden placing seventh in the same event with a jump of 23-8.
The men's 4x100m relay team – Dryden, Boeni, Daniel Lynch, Emmanuel Freeland – qualified for the IC4A Final on Saturday, running a time of 41.40 to place 20th overall. The same squad ran the 4x200m relay, placing 20th also with a time of 1:26.34.
Senior Brad McFadden ran the 400m hurdles to kick off the day, clocking in at 54.43 for a 21st place finish.
In the men's 4x400m Wetzler/Pennsylvania, the Owls' team comprised of Lou Parisi, Aaron Taylor, Derrhyl Duncan, and Alex Schiavi ran a time of 3:20.50 to place fifth.
Josue Louis, Tim Malloy, Jason Howitt, and Schiavi teamed up for the Shuttle Hurdles to place 11th with a time of 61.66.
Both the men's and women's sprint medley teams competed Friday. The men's squad – Dylan Pensyl, Daniel Lynch, McFadden, and Zach Coulson placed 36th in a time of 3:35.21. The women's team – Andrea Butler, Dia Dorsey, Jade Wilson, Tonney Smith – ran a time of 4:14.67 to place 35th.
The Owls are back in action tomorrow, with senior Grant West in the hammer throw at 11:00 a.m.
