Men's Crew Defeats #19 Georgetown

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University Men's Varsity 8 defeated the 19th-ranked Georgetown Hoyas Saturday on the Schuylkill River. Temple, stroked by senior Pat Curran, led from start to finish opening a commanding lead by the half-way point.
Temple, ranked 21st, beat the Hoyas by about 2/3 length open water in a fast time of 5:49. Georgetown was timed in 5:56.
The Owls JV8 also topped the Hoyas by an impressive 2 1/2 lengths open water. Temple was timed in 6:08, the Hoyas 6:17.
Georgetown defeated the Owls frosh 4 and Varsity 4.
Next up for the Owls is the Dad Vail Regatta on Friday May 7th and Saturday May 8th.
