Boeni Advances To NCAA Championships On Day One Of East Regional

Owls' senior placed 10th in long jump to advance

GREENSBORO, N.C. – As he has done all season long, senior Tim Boeni excelled in the long jump in opening day action of the NCAA East Regional on the campus of North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C. The Owls' senior placed tenth in the event, qualifying himself for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Boeni landed 24-10.50 in the event, placing 10th out of 48 of the region's best leapers with the top 12 advancing. He becomes the first male Temple athlete in over 15 years to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

In the hammer throw, senior Bryce Buffaloe led the Owls with a 20th place finish, throwing 192-1. Senior Grant West placed 27th with a toss of 186-11, while junior Bob Keogh placed 39th with a throw of 176-6.

Senior Josue Louis and freshman Tim Malloy cap off action for the Owls at the NCAA East Regionals, competing in the high jump at 5:00 p.m.
