Owls' freshman posts tremendous first half
PHILADELPHIA - Temple baseball's freshman Henry Knabe earned Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League All-Star recognition for his tremendous first half performance for his summer team the Freehold Clippers. Knabe ranks fifth in the league with a .405 batting average, leading his team to a 13-9 record at the break.
Along with an impressive batting average, the Califon, NJ (Immaculata HS) native owns 32 hits, eight of which are doubles and one home run. He is also sporting an on base percentage of .437 and a slugging percentage of .544. Knabe has also shown consistency defensively, boasting a fielding percentage of .978 with just one error in 45 chances.
In his collegiate debut last season, Knabe made 22 appearances and eight starts for the Owls, hitting .273 with two doubles and one home run.
