Men's Cross Country Preps For Season With Scrimmage Against La Salle

Penatar and May pace the Owls in the top three
PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's cross country team got a taste of the season to come as they competed in a non-scoring scrimmage against La Salle, Wednesday evening at Valley Green. Junior Eddie Penatar and senior Mike May paced the men, finishing second and third over the four-mile course with times of 22:11 and 22:14, respectively.
La Salle's Paul Reilly led the pack with a time of 22:09, followed closely by Penatar and May. Senior Eric Conklin ran 22:16 to place fifth, while senior Geoff Barletta placed sixth with a time of 22:22. Freshmen Will Kellar and Brian MacNab also fared well in their semi-debut, tying for seventh in a time of 22:25. Senior Ben Thomas rounded out the top 10 with a time of 22:33.
The Owls open their 2010 season at the 16th Annual Monmouth Invitational on September 18.
