McCarthy helped lead Temple to two dominating Atlantic 10 wins last week
PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Big 5 honored Temple junior Kristen McCarthy as the women's basketball player of the week for the second consecutive week. McCarthy and the Owls cruised to big victories last week, defeating Rhode Island 81-34 and Fordham 71-28.
McCarthy averaged 14.5 points per game and shot 50 percent from the field in the two wins. She scored 16 points and pulled down six boards in Temple's win vs. Rhode Island, while also tallying three assists and three steals.
In the Owls' 71-28 road win at Fordham, McCarthy scored 13 points including three treys, and recorded two steals along with two rebounds.
