Fencing Debuts Ninth In First USFCA Coaches Poll

Owls compete against all but one of the ranked teams this season
PHILADELPHIA - The first USFCA Coaches Poll of 2011 was released, with the Temple women's fencing team debuting where they ended 2010, as the ninth-ranked team in the country. Sixth-ranked Columbia-Barnard is the only ranked program not on the Owls schedule this season, which also includes nearly every team that received votes in the poll.
The Owls, under the direction of Hall of Fame head coach Nikki Franke, are fresh off of a 4-1 day hosting the Philadelphia Invitational, Temple's first team meet of the season. The Cherry and White compete next at the Penn State Multi-Meet on January 29.
