PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -
The Owls have had a week to shake off their 7-1 loss to the Saint Joseph's Hawks and now look forward to a critical weekend in Atlantic 10 Conference play when they head to Ohio to take on Xavier (5-7-2, 0-4-1) on Friday evening before going to Dayton on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. to face the Flyers (12-3-0, 3-2-0).

With having several opponents on their schedule that are ahead of them in the A-10 standings, the Owls (4-10-0, 1-4-0) will be playing to keep themselves in the postseason hunt. Temple comes into this weekend sitting above the Musketeers in the conference standings.

Sophomore Gabby Lopez led the Owls with two shots and picked up her first collegiate goal in the closing minutes of last week's match at St. Joe's. Currently, senior Niki Conn leads Temple in scoring with nine points, which includes a team-high four goals.

Xavier opens weekend play after going winless in its last six games. The Musketeers will also be looking to get on the scoreboard for the first time since Oct. 7, as they have been shutout in their last three contests.

Leading the way for Xavier is Jessica Brooks, who has seven points on the year. She is tied with two others on the team with two goals. Netminder Katie Markesbury leads the A-10 with 106 saves, while posing a 1.01 goals against average this season.

Dayton, who is the defending A-10 Conference Champion from 2010, is opening the weekend against Saint Joseph's on Friday night before hosting the Owls on Sunday afternoon. The Flyers are currently receiving votes in the latest NSCAA poll--a week after being ranked No. 21 in the same poll.

Colleen Williams is ranked third in the A-10 and first on her team in scoring, having 26 points on the year. Juliana Libertin and Kelsey Smigel have also provided a chunk of the team's offense, totaling 15 and 14 points, respectively.

Goalkeeper Katherine Boone has kept opponents off the scoreboard with the conference's second lowest goals against average at 0.91. Boone has needed to make only 40 saves in 14 games.
