Kacper Rams, Mavrina and Calderon Still Playing at Clay Court Classic

Trio active in consolation draw
BRADENTON, Fla. - Men's tennis player Kacper Rams, and women's players Yana Mavrina and Paola Calderon, were still representing Temple at the 2011 Dick Vitale/Lakewood Ranch Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic. The event is being held in Bradenton, Fla., on Friday-Sunday, November 11-13, 2011.
Rams took on Andrew Butz of Florida in the consolation quarterfinals. The junior dropped a 7-6 (2), 6-1 decision to the Gator.
On the women's side, Calderon faced C.C. Sardhina of Oklahoma State, dropping a 6-2, 6-3 match.
Mavrina had a successful day, defeating Malika Rose, also of Oklahoma State with a super tiebreaker match, 7-6, 3-6, 10-4. Mavrina advanced to the consolation semifinals with a 6-4, 6-2, win over Julie Sabcinski of Notre Dame. The sophomore will take on Sardhina for the consolation title on Sunday.
