Freshman setter ranked fifth in the conference in assists per set this season
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Temple freshman Tiffany Connatser has been named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team in a vote of the league's head coaches, as announced by the A-10 office on Thursday afternoon. Connatser averaged 9.55 assists per set this season to rank fifth in the conference, and recorded 13 assist/dig double-doubles over the course of the season.
Connatser recorded a season-high 20 digs along with 45 assists in a win at La Salle, and tallied a season-high 52 assists in the the first match of the season for the Owls- a 3-2 win vs. Stony Brook.
Temple finished the season at 8-20 overall and 4-11 in the Atlantic 10, but with some impressive statistics to boast. For conference matches, the Owls led all teams with 78 service aces (1.44 aces per set), and sophomore Elyse Burkert led all players individually with 18 aces (0.33 aces per set). As a team, Temple ranked third in the league for conference matches in digs with 15.76 digs per set.
Dayton and Xavier swept the conference's individual awards, with Player of the Year honors going to Dayton's Rachel Krabacher, and Coach of the Year honors going to Dayton's Kelly Sheffield.
