Women's Basketball Makes a Visit to Laura W. Waring School

Head Coach Tonya Cardoza speaks to elementary students about basketball, school and success
PHILADELPHIA - Head Coach Tonya Cardoza of the Temple women's basketball team, along with student-athletes Victoria Macaulay and BJ Williams, visited Laura W. Waring School on Thursday morning to speak to students about basketball, academics, fitness and hard work. Also present were two Temple cheerleaders who taught the audience the Temple Fight Song (video).
Cardoza emphasized the importance of getting good grades, fitness and eating right to a crowd of around 150 students at the school. The student-athletes answered questions and demonstrated drills the team performs in conditioning, and students were given t-shirts and vouchers to attend Temple women's basketball games this season.
