PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Big 5 honored Kristen McCarthy of Temple as the Big 5 Women's Player of the Week. McCarthy averaged 17 points per game in a week that saw Temple win its 11th and 12th straight games.
In a 54-38 win at St. Bonaventure, McCarthy scored all 12 of her points in the second half and tied for team-high honors with six rebounds, while also blocking a career-high three shots.
McCarthy led Temple with 22 points including 7-of-7 at the free throw line in a 72-63 win vs. La Salle in Big 5 action. She grabbed seven boards, dished three assists and tied her career high with six steals.
