EMMITSBURG, Md. - Sophomores Kellee Pace and Stephany Parcell recorded two goals and one assist each in leading the Temple lacrosse team to a 9-5 victory on the road at Mount St. Mary's. The Owls are now 1-1 after their first week of play, and will return home for their next game against UC Davis on Friday, March 4.

The game was close throughout the first half as the teams traded goals, but Temple out-scored the Mountaineers 5-2 in the second half.

With the game tied at 2, Pace gave the Owls the lead for good on a free-position goal at 17:32 before the setting up Parcell at 26:07 for a 4-2 Temple lead.

Mt. St. Mary's Nicole Price scored her second goal of the game in the final minute of the first half to narrow the margin to 4-3.

Pace then started the second-half scoring with her second 8-meter goal of the day at 34:41. Sophomore Charlotte Swavola then increased the advantage to 6-3 off a Parcell helper at 43:02.

Lindsay Diaz answered for the Mountaineers with her second score of the match 12 seconds later to cut the deficit to 6-4, but Temple scored the next three to close out the game. Swavola connected with Parcell at 44:58 before freshmen Kelly Syphard and Jaymie Tabor scored their first career goals to help seal the win.

Also scoring for Temple in the first half were juniors Missy Schweitzer and Karly Cohen.

Junior goalkeeper Tess Bishop made seven saves in the win.
