Smith places fifth in pole vault

CHESTER, Pa. - Several members of the Temple men's track & field team performed at the Widener Invitational, held Friday evening. Senior Brian Smith was one of those athletes representing the Owls, placing fifth in the pole vault.
Smith posted a season best in the pole vault, clearing 13-05.25. Also competing for TU was junior Brian Littlepage and freshman Ryan Maccie. Littlepage posted a seventh place finish in the shot put with a toss of 40-09.50, and a like finish in the weight throw with a distance of 41-10.00. Maccie finished 19th in the shot put with a heave of 31-05.25 and 12th in the weight throw with a toss of 38-00.25.
The Owls are still in action this weekend as they travel to compete at the Monmouth Invitational on February 5.
