Women's Fencing To Send Four To NCAA Championships

Owls qualify four fencers for big dance
PHILADELPHIA - Juniors Kamali Thompson and Alyssa Lomuscio, along with freshmen Epiphany Georges and Chantal Montrose, will represent Temple at the 2011 NCAA Women's Fencing Championships held at the Ohio State University on March 24-27. The quartet will be fencing in the championships, while sophomore Mikayla Varadi and freshman Teagan Kilpatrick were selected as alternates.
Georges and Lomuscio are the two competitors in foil for the Cherry and White. Georges will be making her first-ever trip to the NCAA Championships, while Lomuscio makes her second and first as an Owl. Lomuscio placed 18th at the 2009 Championships as a freshman at Fairleigh Dickinson.
Thompson is making her third consecutive appearance in sabre at the NCAA Championships. Placing 16th as a freshman in 2009, she went on to improve her finish to 14th in 2010. Montrose will be competing for the first time and representing Temple as the lone epeeist.
