Owls boast most honorees of any school
PHILADELPHIA - The National Intercollegiate Women's Fencing Association (NIWFA) has announced the members of their All-Conference Teams, with five Owls being named to the first team All-Conference. Junior Kamali Thompson, sophomore Mikayla Varadi, along with freshmen Epiphany Georges and Andrea Haley, were all honored by the conference.
Temple was the only school to have three athletes named to an All-Conference team, and was the lone squad to have more than one named first team All-Conference. The honors only add to the bevy of accolades the Owls had recieved at the 83rd annual NIWFA Championships.
Georges (43-13) and Varadi (45-13) represented the Owls as foilists, while Montrose (44-28) was the lone epeeist and Thompson (55-7) and Haley (26-12) repped Temple in sabre. Senior Alyssa Lombardi, who sports a 3.75 grade point average, was named to the NIWFA All-Academic team.
