SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - After a decisive, 63-45 win against seventh-seeded Arizona State in the NCAA First Round, the 10th-seeded Temple women's basketball team is preparing to face #9/7 and second-seeded Notre Dame in the Second Round. The match-up will take place Monday, March 21 at 7:40 p.m. MST (9:40 p.m. Eastern) on ESPN2.
The Owls are making their fifth-ever second round appearance, but no Temple women's team has ever advanced to the Sweet 16.
Temple (24-8) and Notre Dame (27-7) are tied 2-2 all-time, but have not faced each other since Dec., 2002. The Irish won that game, 84-61, as well as the most recent meeting before that in 1993. The Owls took wins in 1989-90 and 1991-92. All four meetings have taken place in the regular season and each teams two wins came on their home courts.
