Owls went 3-3 at Penn last weekend; will travel to Villanova this Saturday

PHILADELPHIA - In its first Spring action of the season on March 26, the Temple volleyball team finished with a record of 3-3 in a tournament at nearby Penn. The Owls split matches with Villanova and Rutgers, fell to Colgate but recorded a win against Penn.

"I was really happy with how the team performed last weekend," said new head coach Bakeer Ganes. "We focused on the things we'd been working on in practice and were able to implement them in the games.

"It was important for us to get out there and compete after training for so long. The team was anxious to get there which was a good sign, and our success was great for the team's confidence. We saw that we can get out there and win."

On April 2, the team will stay nearby once again, competing at Villanova against VCU, Eastern University, St. Peter's and Albany. On April 16, the Owls will travel for a tournament at West Point.

"We're really excited for another opportunity to go compete with some different programs. The girls are ready to see how we can do in another tournament."
