DMR qualifies for finals, Keogh takes second in weight throw

BOSTON, Mass. - Senior Bob Keogh took home silver in the weight throw and the men's distance medley qualified for the finals on day one of the 2011 IC4A Championships held at Boston University.  Keogh, competing in his last IC4A Championships, did not hold back going 61-08.25 in his main event.

The men's distance medley relay comprised of seniors Eddie Penetar, Lou Parisi, Aaron Taylor and junior Travis Mahoney, turned in the eighth fastest qualifying time of the day (9:58.52).

In other qualifying action, senior Emmanual Freeland nearly made it to the 60m dash finals, running a preliminary time of 7.02.  He also ran 21.94 in the 200m to place 20th in qualifying action.  

Senior Miles Dryden finished behind Freeland in the 200m, running 22.02 to place 22nd.  Dryden placed 10th in the highly competitive long jump, landing a leap of 22-06.25.  

Mahoney competed in the one-mile run for Temple, running 4:11.70 to record his season-best in the event.  Parisi clocked in a time of 1:53.44 in the 800m to place 31st, while Taylor turned in a time of 1:54.15 to take 35th.

In the 500m, junior Alan Harding placed 19th with a time of 1:04.70.  Harding helped the men's 4x400m relay to a 17th place finish with a time of 3:17.27.

Day two action begins at 9:30 a.m. with the heptathlon 60m hurdles.
