Owls' junior snapped own school record in steeple at Princeton Invitational
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Announced by the conference today, Temple men's track & field standout Travis Mahoney has been named Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week, for the week ending April 25. Mahoney snapped his own school record in the 3000m steeplechase en route to a first place finish at the Princeton Invitational.
The Old Bridge, N.J., native placed first out of 54 runners with his time of 8:41.66. His time is not only an IC4A qualifying mark, but a USATF Championships qualifying time and currently ranks second in the nation.
Select members of the Temple track & field teams will be in action this weekend, competing in the prestigious Penn Relays beginning April 28 at Franklin Field.
