Men's Track & Field Competes In Day Two of the Penn Relays

Keogh takes third in hammer throw championship, 4x2 qualifies for IC4A
PHILADELPHIA - Senior Bob Keogh impressively placed third in the hammer throw and the Owls' 4x200m relay qualified for Saturday's IC4A Championship to highlight action for the Temple men's track & field team at the Penn Relays on Friday afternoon at Franklin Field.
Keogh impressively placed third in the hammer throw championships with a mark of 199-2. Keogh was only outdone by two competitors from Louisiana State, Michael Lauro and Walter Henning. Also in the field, junior Tim Malloy placed 13th in the college high jump Easter with a mark of 6-05.00. Senior Miles Dryden made his mark in the college long jump Eastern, placing fourth with a mark of 23-11.00. Sophomore Dylan Pensyl placed 17th in the same event, leaping 21-11.50.
The 4x200m relay, comprised of senior Miles Dryden, sophomore Dylan Pensyl, freshman Alex McGee and senior Emmanual Freeland, ran a time of 1:26.26 to place 18th in qualifying action and earn a spot in the IC4A Championships held Saturday. The 4x100m relay, made up of the same athletes, ran a time of 42.04 to qualify as an alternate in the IC4A Championship race on Saturday. The Owls' distance medley relay ran a time of 9:58.82. The 4x400m relay team, made up of McGee, freshman Alan Harding, freshman Chris Bradley and senior Derrhyl Duncan, ran a time of 3:21.24 to place 50th.
Saturday, the men's 4x200m relay will run at 2:50 p.m. and the 4x100m relay serves as an alternate at 1:22 p.m. Also in action is freshman Gabe Pickett in the triple jump (9:00 a.m.) and senior Chris Durante in the javelin (12:30 p.m.).
