Men's Crew Places Sixth at San Diego Classic

SAN DIEGO - The Temple men's varsity 8 crew placed sixth in the Copley Cup Sunday morning at the San Diego Classic held on Mission Bay.
The Owls' varsity 8, comprised of junior James Barr (stroke), junior Nenad Ninkovic (7-seat), junior Jason Cartwright (6-seat), junior Brian Reehill (5-seat), sophomore Mike Mirabella (4-seat), senior John Masterson (3-seat), freshman Fergal Barry (2-seat), senior Scott Waters (bow) and junior Donald Norris (cox), finished 1.26 seconds behind fifth place California-San Diego, who they had bested in their heat Saturday. California won the Copley Cup with Stanford placing second. Michigan placed third with Oregon State finishing fourth.
Temple next takes to the water on Saturday at the Knecht Cup Regatta held on the Cooper River.
