PHILADELPHIA, Pa. –
The Temple women's tennis team topped off its regular- season with a 7-0 win over Atlantic 10 foe Saint Joseph's on Wednesday afternoon at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center. The Owls improve to 15-6 for the season and go into the Atlantic 10 tournament seeded second.

On senior day, the doubles duo of Theresa Stangl and Christine Clermont got things started with an 8-1 win at second doubles. At third doubles, Josephine Bergman and Carly Bohman secured the point for Owls, defeating the Hawk's Devi Jadeja and Jenna Procyk, 8-5. With the point decided in Temple's favor, play on court one ceased with the Owls leading 7-6.

In singles play, Mellana Cramer extended the lead, defeating the Melissa Glick, 6-0, 6-0, in the sixth position. She was followed by Lucie Pazderova who defeated Maggie Mullaney, 6-0, 6-0, at third singles. Senior Josephine Bergman would secure the win for the Owls with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the fifth position.

With the match decided play continued on courts one, two and four. Steiner defeated Jadeja, 6-2, 6-1 at number two. Freshman Jordan Batey had little trouble defeating Tara Walsh, 6-1, 6-0, in the fourth position. She was followed by Stangl, who defeated the Hawks' Casey Robinson, 6-1, 7-6 (5) for the sweep.

TU travels to Charlottesville, Va., for the Atlantic 10 Championship, being held April 8-10. The second-seeded Owls will face the winner of the UMass vs. Fordham match on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
