Temple's men's tennis team had its five-match win streak halted on Saturday, April 9, falling to visiting St. John's, 5-2, at TU Pavilion. The Owls fall to 15-6 on the season.

Junior Filip Rams and freshman Taylor Hairston opened play with an 8-2 win at first doubles, but the Red Storm came back to claim the final two matches to win the point.

In singles play, St. John's quickly secured the victory with wins at the second, third and fourth flights. Filip Rams salvaged the shutout with a 6-4, 7-5 win at number one. After another Red Storm win at number six, junior Mansur Gishkaev gave Temple its final point, defeating Gustav Kallen, 8-6, at number five.

The Owls host NJIT in another non-conference bout on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
