PHILADELPHIA - Four Temple men's track & field standouts will be representing the Owls at the NCAA East Regional Championships, held May 26-28 at Indiana Univeristy. Seniors Emmanual Freeland, Bob Keogh and Miles Dryden, along with junior Travis Mahoney, will all be competing in preliminary action in their respective events.
Mahoney impressively has the top qualifying time in the 3000m steeplechase in the East, turning in a season-best and school-record time of 8:36.23 to win the event at the Atlantic 10 Championships. Freeland was edged for the conference title in the 200m dash at the Atlantic 10 Championships, setting his season-best time with a mark of 21.12.
It will be Keogh in the hammer throw and Dryden in the long jump for Temple's field competitors. Keogh smashed the school record in the hammer at the Texas Relays with a mark of 208-04 and was also the conference champion in the event. Dryden took home gold in the long jump at A-10's, posting a season-best 24-06.50.
