Men's Track and Field Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

PHILADELPHIA— The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its list of All-Academic squads on Wednesday. Temple men's track and field has been named one of 90 teams in the nation to earn All-Academic status after combining for a 3.07 grade point average.
The University of Richmond reported the highest cumulative team GPA (3.51) through the spring 2011 semester. Harvard and Duke finished second on the GPA list at 3.48.
The Owls were joined by only two other Atlantic 10 Conference schools—La Salle and Massachusetts.
In addition to their success in the classroom, the men's track and field team took first place in the IC4A 4x100m at the Penn Relays last spring.
Temple is slated to begin its track and field season Dec. 12 when it opens the indoor season at the Jack Pyrah Invitational at Haverford College.
