Men’s Crew Wins Big at Bill Braxton Memorial Regatta

PHILADELPHIA- the Temple Men's Crew team competed in the 39th Annual Bill Braxton Memorial Regatta on Sunday, November 11th. The team dominated at the regatta, winning gold medals in four races.
The Freshman/Novice 4+ boat comprised of Truman Levine (coxswain),Michael Pelligrini (stroke), Charles Anderson( seat 3), Brian Reifsnyder (seat 2), Dan Sipzner(seat 1). Placed first with a time of 5:25.52. The Owls finished ahead of Catholic University and Scranton University, who placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
The Owls Frosh/Novice 8+ Finished in first place with a time of 4:48.00. The Owls Boat was comprised of Eli Garfinkel (coxswain),Tom Robbins (stoke), Michael Ryan Dartnell (seat 7), Hunter Devine (seat 6), Blake Lane (seat 5), John Monoghan(seat 4), Gary Wielgus (seat 3), Edward Villanueva (seat 2) and Mario DiCarlo (seat 1).
Nick Palastro (coxswain) led the Owls Collegiate JV boat to first place in the JV 8+ finals. The boat included Connor Murphy (stroke), Rich Ehmer(seat 7), Kyle Yerger (seat 6), Patrick Woodruff (seat 5), Zephyr Dippel (seat 4), Hammond (seat 3), Nick Matousch (seat 2) , Vince DiPentino (seat 1) and finished with a time of 4:41.52.
The Owls Varsity 8 Boat, comprised of Matt Sbei (coxswain), Fergal Barry (stroke), Kevin Nally (seat 7), Reifsnyder (seat 6), Mike Mirabella (seat 5), Pelligrini (seat 4), Anderson (seat 3), Shawn Neal (seat 2) and Josh Kuzo (seat 1), won gold in the Men's Collegiate Varsity 8+ with a time of 4:27.63. The Owls finished ahead of Ithaca, who came in second with a time of 4:28.58, and The University of Delaware, who placed third with a time of 4:30.86.
Temple Men's Crew also had a solid performance at the Philadelphia Frostbite Regatta on Saturday November 10th. The Owls placed 2nd in the Varsity 8+ finals with a time of 6:17.99 and placed four boats in three heats of the Varsity 4+ finals.
