PHILADELPHIA - Following her impressive 11-2 record in foil at this past weekend's Penn State Multi-Meet, junior Mikayla Varadi has earned national recognition, as she as been tabbed a "Primetime Performer of the Week" by CollegeFencing360.com.

Varadi put up a very strong battle against No. 1 Penn State, taking a 3-0 sweep from their foilists, including a 5-3 win over Russian newcomer Alina Antokhina. The native of Beaverton, Oregon led the Owls to a 7-2 record in foil against the Nitany Lions.

The third-year foilist  posted a win to help knock off No. 9 Penn, 14-13. With Varadi's contributions, the No. 8 Owls went 4-1 in the meet up at State College, Pa. to help improve their overall season record to 12-2 on the year.
