Owls get second-straight shutout victory

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Temple men's tennis team improved to 4-2 overall with a convincing 7-0 win over Drexel at the Drexel Armory on Monday, February 27. The Owls swept the doubles matches and lost just one set in singles play.
Filip Rams and Kristian Marquart started things off with an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Kacper Rams and Dmitry Vizhunov secured the point with an 8-4 win at the second flight. Mansur Gishkaev and Taylor Hairston made it a clean sweep with their 8-4 decision at number three.
In singles play, Filip Rams took a 6-3, 6-2 win at the first flight to give TU a 2-0 edge. Kacper Rams followed with a 7-5, 7-5 decision at number two, and Vizhunov secured the match with a 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 win at No. 3.
The Cherry and White got a 6-4, 6-2 win from Marquart at No. 4 and a 6-1, 6-2 straight-set victory from Gishkaev at the fifth flight. Hairston's 8-2 win at number six completed the sweep.
The Owls improve to 4-2 overall and are at Princeton on March 2 for a 4 p.m. match.
