Owls drop 6-1 match to Rams
RICHMOND, Va. – Kacper Rams was Temple's lone point scorer, winning at No. 2 singles, as the Temple men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at #34 Virginia Commonwealth on Saturday morning at Thalhimer Tennis Center.
VCU (13-4) opened doubles action with an 8-1 win at third doubles, but the Owls put up a fight for the point. Both the first and second flight duos went down by an 8-6 count.
In solo play, the national powerhouse VCU team proved too much for the Cherry and White, winning five of the six matches in straight-sets. Only Kacper Rams was able to get a victory, defeating Antoine Baroz at the second flight for TU's point.
The Owls are 4-6 on the year and finally return to play at home, after a grueling six-match road trip, on Wednesday, March 14, with an 11:15 a.m. match against Atlantic 10 foe La Salle at Arthur Ashe Tennis Center.
